Card making, scrapbooking, other types of crafts
Unless you are into stamping and cardmaking, this probably won't mean much to you but I recently attended Stamp Joy put on by Taylored Expressions. Here's my experience.
Stamp Joy is an annual event hosted by Taylored Expressions to share techniques and tips for making cards. It's usually in person but this year it was virtual. Perfect for an introvert like me. I had a great time!!
Several years before I retired, I took up scrapbooking. And closely aligned with scrapbooking is card making. You use a lot of the same supplies and techniques. I also followed card making on Pinterest and saved lots of examples, thinking I would benefit from them when I quit working. My plan was to make cards as a retiree. I recently came across notepads that I thought were cute and would make nice presents for friends. However, it didn’t seem right to just give someone a notepad. Sure, I could include it with something else, but I wanted the notepad itself to be something special. I wanted to jazz up a notepad. I checked Pinterest, which is always my starting point, and found people had been creating holders for post-it note pads. I liked what they’d done, but my notepads are bigger than a three inch post-it pad. I found what I thought was the best design and tailored it to meet the size of my notepads, creating a…
